How spearfishing is treated at AMP Cinque Terre — Zona A di riserva integrale (Punta Mesco).
No-take core of the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area off the Punta Mesco headland (between Levanto and Monterosso al Mare). Under the AMP's regolamento di disciplina (D.M. 20 luglio 2011, G.U. n. 267 of 16/11/2011, art. 4 c.2 lett. a) the only activities allowed in zona A are rescue and surveillance, manager's service work, authorised scientific research, contingented bathing without fins/boots/gloves, authorised guided dives and authorised oar/pedal/sail/electric navigation — no fishing of any kind. Spearfishing is in any case banned throughout the whole AMP (decreto istitutivo art. 5 c.1 lett. a; regolamento di esecuzione D.M. 24 febbraio 2015 art. 26 c.1).

Register as a recreational/sport sea fisher (age 16+) via the national MASAF system; from January 2026 register and declare catches of listed species through the EU RecFishing app under Reg. (UE) 2023/2842. No exam required for spearfishing itself.
