How spearfishing is treated at Parco Nazionale dell'Arcipelago di La Maddalena (Sardinia).

National park encompassing over 60 granite islands and islets in the Strait of Bonifacio, NE Sardinia, with ~15,000 ha of protected marine area. Spearfishing is prohibited for all non-residents of the Municipality of La Maddalena; in integral-protection zones (Ma) it is banned for everyone including residents; in general-protection zones (Mb) residents may only practice it with a special pass on specific weekend days from 1 June to 30 September. Non-residents may not possess or transport spearfishing equipment inside the park except disassembled in sealed containers with prior authorisation.

Register as a recreational/sport sea fisher (age 16+) via the national MASAF system; from January 2026 register and declare catches of listed species through the EU RecFishing app under Reg. (UE) 2023/2842. No exam required for spearfishing itself.
