Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Boscobel West Special Fishery Conservation Area.
Fish sanctuary in St. Mary added by the 2016 amendment (Seventeenth Schedule). Fishing (including spearfishing) is prohibited except during rotating permitted periods set out in regulation 4B; outside those periods all fishing is an offence (fine up to J$1,000,000). Official boundary starts at Point A near Stewart Town (18 deg 24' 37.17" N, 76 deg 59' 36.70" W), ending at Marley Beach.

Under the Fisheries Act, 2018 (s.25) no person may engage in fishing without the appropriate licence, authorization or permit, and contravention is an offence.
