Overview

How spearfishing is treated at Orange Bay Special Fishery Conservation Area.

Fish sanctuary in Westmoreland; fishing prohibited except under licence (SFCA Reg. 4). Official boundary starts at Point A, a land-based mark at Little Bloody Bay (18 deg 21' 18.206" N, 78 deg 20' 32.636" W); includes sections of the Gallery Reef system and Rhodes Hall.

License requiredvia National Fisheries Authority (NFA), Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining

Apply and register online via the National Fisheries Authority IrieFINS online licensing and registration system, or contact the NFA directly. Under the Fisheries Act, 2018 (s.25) no person may engage in fishing without the appropriate licence, authorization or permit, and contravention is an offence.
