What this zone is

Overview

How spearfishing is treated at Abbassieh Coast Nature Reserve.

Marine and coastal nature reserve north of Tyre established by Lebanese Law No. 170 of 5 May 2020 (WDPA 555716223). Classified as a no-take reserve (IUCN Ib), so all fishing — including spearfishing/underwater fishing — is prohibited throughout; this is reinforced nationally by Ministry of Agriculture Decision 346/1 of 2010 banning fishing with diving equipment.
