How spearfishing is treated at Ceasar-Mathurin Marine Reserve (Caesar Point to Mathurin Point).
No-take Marine Reserve covering the reefs extending from Caesar Point to Mathurin Point on the south coast near Vieux Fort, first declared 1990 and re-declared 2000 under the Fisheries Act No. 10 of 1984 (WDPA/Protected Planet site 32730, Marine Reserve). All fishing is closed and spear-gun fishing is prohibited in any Marine Reserve (Fisheries Regulations 1994, Reg. 44(5)).
