How spearfishing is treated at Prutul de Jos Scientific Reserve (Lower Prut Lakes / Lake Beleu, Ramsar No. 1029).

State scientific reserve (1,691 ha, established 1991) in Cahul District covering the floodplain lakes of the lower Prut, centred on Lake Beleu. It forms Ramsar Zone No. 1029 'Lakes of the Lower Prut' (designated 20.06.2000) and part of the Emerald Network. As a state protected natural area it is excluded from recreational fishing under Art. 16(1) of Law 149/2006; spearfishing is banned nationwide.
