The Kandihera-Maakandu Channel ('Manta Point Addu') is a manta cleaning station and channel in Addu Atoll (Seenu), part of the UNESCO Addu Atoll Biosphere Reserve, gazetted as a Marine Protected Area (Sandbank/MPA, 735 ha) by the EPA under EPPA 4/93, decree 2018/R-105, declared 13 Sep 2018. Spearfishing is prohibited nationwide (Section 12(a), R-75/2020); fishing inside this Ministry-gazetted MPA is separately prohibited (Section 12(b)).
