How spearfishing is treated at Federal waters of Mexico (general).
Recreational free-diving spearfishing with a rubber/spring speargun is generally permitted in Mexican federal waters with a valid CONAPESCA sport-fishing permit, outside protected areas, veda zones and the 250 m beach/commercial-vessel buffers.
