Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Zona de Aprovechamiento Especial - agregacion y reproduccion de mero (Parque Nacional Arrecifes de Xcalak).

Recreational sport fishing is not a permitted activity in this zone under the management program (DOF 08/10/2004), and the park's administrative rules expressly prohibit the use of nets and speargun during the reproductive aggregation seasons. Note: licensed commercial fishing remains a permitted activity in this subzone; the prohibition applies to recreational/sport spearfishing (no permitted modality) and, during aggregation seasons, to any speargun use under Regla 73.XXVII.
