How spearfishing is treated at NIMPA line-fish sanctuary (Meob Bay to Sylvia Hill).

Within the NIMPA, a line-fish sanctuary from Meob Bay south to Sylvia Hill, between the high-water mark and six nautical miles offshore, where silver kob (kabeljou) and steenbras may not be harvested by long-lines or line fishing for recreational or commercial purposes (Reg 5, GN 316 of 2012). Coordinate is the southern border point off Sylvia Hill given in the regulation.

Obtainable from any Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources office along the coast - Walvis Bay, Swakopmund, Luederitz, and the Ministry head office in Windhoek - or from the Henties Bay fishing centre / police station. An Identity Card or Passport is required; minors need a birth certificate and passport photos.
