How spearfishing is treated at Réserve naturelle de Poé (Bourail).
Marine nature reserve (réserve naturelle, ~3,000 ha, created 1993) in the Poé lagoon at Bourail, a feeding ground for turtles and dugongs within the UNESCO World Heritage Zone Côtière Ouest. All fishing including spearfishing is prohibited (enforced: a 2023 conviction for illegal fishing at Poé).
