How spearfishing is treated at Pescador Island Marine Park and Fish Sanctuary.

Small limestone island ~4 km west of Panagsama Beach, Moalboal, Cebu, in the Tañon Strait, famous for the Cathedral/Cave wall dives and the Moalboal sardine run. Declared a marine park and fish sanctuary in 1990 by the Sangguniang Bayan (municipal council) of Moalboal; managed as a no-take marine sanctuary with entrance/user fees funding patrols and enforcement against destructive fishing. Fishing (including spearfishing) is prohibited within the sanctuary (Sec. 101 of the Fisheries Code).
