How spearfishing is treated at Reserva Natural Parcial do Garajau (Madeira).

Partial Nature Reserve of Garajau on the south coast of Madeira, east of Funchal — the first exclusively marine protected area in Portugal (Decreto Legislativo Regional 23/86/M, 4 Oct 1986). All fishing activities, commercial or sport, and spearfishing are prohibited throughout the reserve; only amateur diving and non-motorised nautical activities are allowed. Patrolled by the coast guard.
