Declared an Área Silvestre Protegida (categoría Reserva Ecológica) by Ley Nº 2715/05; fishing, hunting and recreational bathing are expressly prohibited there — 'la Ley 716 de Delitos Ambientales penaliza la pesca y la caza dentro de áreas de conservación' — enforced by MADES/Municipalidad de Asunción with net seizures inside the reserve.
