Gaza coast total sea-entry ban (IDF prohibition, divers named, July 2025)
What this zone is
Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Gaza coast total sea-entry ban (IDF prohibition, divers named, July 2025).
In July 2025 the Israeli military publicly reiterated a total prohibition on entering the sea along the entire Gaza coast. Its Arabic-language spokesman (Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee) expressly called on 'fishermen, swimmers and divers' to refrain from entering the sea, warning the IDF would act against any violation - a ban that directly covers diving and therefore any spearfishing. Earlier in the war access had been cut to roughly 700 m from shore before being closed entirely.
