Fishing or any activity obstructing maritime navigation is prohibited at Doha Port to ensure safe and smooth marine traffic at the port entrance and navigation channels (General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security). Spearfishing not permitted.

Apply to the Fisheries Department (Ministry of Municipality; historically Ministry of Industry and Agriculture). Licensee must be of good conduct and a competent swimmer. Use of harpoon-guns requires separate Fisheries Department permission.
