What this zone is
Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Umm Tais National Park.
National park on the uninhabited island of Umm Tais (Jazirat Umm Tais) at the northern tip of Qatar (Al Shamal municipality), established in 2006. Mangroves, sandbars and beaches make it a major hawksbill sea turtle nesting site and protected marine/bird habitat; as a designated reserve, extraction and harpoon spearfishing are restricted. Coordinate is a representative point at Qatar's northern tip near Ras Rakan / Ar-Ru'ays, off which Jazirat Umm Tais lies.
