Natura 2000 marine Site of Community Importance ROSCI0293 (~49 km2, 100% marine) on the Romanian Black Sea coast off Costinesti and 23 August. Protects marine habitats and species. Spearfishing/harpooning is prohibited under national law (OUG 23/2008); the centroid is placed in the Black Sea off the Costinesti / 23 August resort coast.
