Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Aire Marine Protégée de Cayar (Kayar).
Marine protected area off Kayar on the Grande Côte, created 2004 (approx. 100 ha to 171 km2 depending on extension). Fishing is regulated within the AMP; spearfishing subject to management rules. Kayar's local fishing council (CLPA) also observes its own seasonal biological rest period (commonly July-September).

Apply to the competent services of the Ministry in charge of maritime fishing (Direction des Pêches maritimes). For sport fishing a vessel-based permit requires affiliation to a club/centre affiliated to the national sport-fishing association; the precise procedure and any shore-based recreational diving permit modalities are fixed by ministerial arrêté.
