Somalia's first national park (established 1989), Lower Juba, on the far-southern Indian Ocean coast near Ras Kamboni and the Kenyan border. ~3,300-3,350 km2 protecting mangroves, coral reefs and coastal ecosystems alongside terrestrial habitat. As a protected national park its marine/coastal coral-reef zone is a conservation area where extractive fishing including spearfishing would be restricted.
