Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Admiral Cockburn Land and Sea National Park (NP1).
Marine and terrestrial national park off the south/southwest of South Caicos, encompassing a small portion of South Caicos and the uninhabited cays of Long Cay, Six Hills Cays, Dove Cay and Middleton Cay. Fishing and collecting of marine products are prohibited in all TCI protected areas (lionfish under licence excepted), with fines up to $50,000 per infraction.

Whether you need a license to spearfish here, and how to get one.
Apply to the Department of Environment and Coastal Resources (DECR) / Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources Management (offices on South Dock Road, Providenciales; also Grand Turk and South Caicos). Many fishing charters obtain the recreational licence on the client's behalf. Lionfish licences can only be purchased in person at the Department of Fisheries office.
