How spearfishing is treated at Princess Alexandra National Park (NP20) and Nature Reserve.
6,532-acre coastal and marine national park off the northern and eastern coasts of Providenciales, including Grace Bay Beach, the Bight Beach, Bight Reef (Coral Gardens), Leeward Beach, Smith's Reef and a large part of the northern barrier reef. Fishing, motorized boating and collecting are prohibited; lionfish (under licence) is the only marine product that may be taken inside national parks and nature reserves.

Whether you need a license to spearfish here, and how to get one.
Apply to the Department of Environment and Coastal Resources (DECR) / Department of Fisheries and Marine Resources Management (offices on South Dock Road, Providenciales; also Grand Turk and South Caicos). Many fishing charters obtain the recreational licence on the client's behalf. Lionfish licences can only be purchased in person at the Department of Fisheries office.
