How spearfishing is treated at Romit State Nature Reserve (Kofarnihon headwaters).
State nature reserve / UNESCO biosphere reserve on the southern slopes of the Gissar Range in the headwaters of the Kofarnihon (Romit gorge), established 1959. Mountain streams here hold trout and marinka. As a specially protected natural area (заповедник), fishing is restricted/prohibited under the general protected-territories rule. Center point given for the Romit gorge.

Recreational fishers commonly join clubs/societies of hunters and fishers (Association of Hunters and Fishers of the Republic of Tajikistan), obtain a membership card and buy a ticket for each visit to allocated territories. Foreign visitors generally cannot apply independently and obtain permits through licensed local tour operators/guides.
