How spearfishing is treated at Zorkul Nature Reserve (Lake Zorkul, Ramsar).
High-altitude Lake Zorkul in Gorno-Badakhshan, protected as the Zorkul Nature Reserve and a Ramsar wetland (Ref. no. 1086, designated 18 July 2001); also within Tajik National Park. As a specially protected natural area, recreational fishing is restricted/prohibited under the general protected-territories rule.

Recreational fishers commonly join clubs/societies of hunters and fishers (Association of Hunters and Fishers of the Republic of Tajikistan), obtain a membership card and buy a ticket for each visit to allocated territories. Foreign visitors generally cannot apply independently and obtain permits through licensed local tour operators/guides.
