How spearfishing is treated at Adara tara bandu no-take zone (Atauro Island, west coast).

The first tara bandu Locally Managed Marine Area (LMMA) in Timor-Leste, established by the Adara fishing community on the west coast of Atauro Island in 2015. A permanent no-take zone (about 4.5 ha) was demarcated around a reef wall previously used for fishing; rules ban all fishing (including spearfishing) and prohibit boats navigating or anchoring inside except where approved by the management board.
