Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Paisaje Protegido Laguna de Rocha.
Protected Landscape on the Atlantic coast of Rocha department (incorporated into the SNAP in 2010; ~22,000 ha including ~7,200 ha of lagoon water plus a coastal strip and part of the oceanic platform). Declared a National Lacustrine Park (1977), UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and Ramsar Site (2015). Fishing within the area is regulated under its management plan (artisanal fishing is traditional here); the lagoon mouth is also subject to the recurring corvina negra closure. Mapped at the lagoon body; treat as a regulated/restricted area for spearfishing.
