How spearfishing is treated at Bodega Head State Marine Conservation Area (California).

SMCA off Bodega Head, Sonoma County (12.31 sq mi), around the Bodega Head State Marine Reserve. Recreational take is limited to pelagic finfish by trolling, Dungeness crab by trap, and market squid by hand-held dip net. Because the pelagic-finfish carve-out is restricted to trolling, spearfishing is prohibited here — unlike several southern-California SMCAs where the speargun is expressly allowed.
