How spearfishing is treated at California State Marine Reserves (SMRs).

All take, including spearfishing, is prohibited inside State Marine Reserves. Many State Marine Conservation Areas also specifically prohibit spearfishing. Coordinate is the Point Lobos State Marine Reserve (Monterey County) as a representative SMR; California has many SMRs along its coast - check the CDFW interactive map per site.
