Overview
How spearfishing is treated at Friday Harbor and Point Caution unit, San Juan Islands Marine Preserve (Washington).
A 500-yard band of tidelands and bedlands along San Juan Island from west of Point Caution round to the Port of Friday Harbor breakwater, one of the five units of the preserve defined in WAC 220-302-100. Under WAC 220-305-080(2)(c) all food fish other than salmon are closed here (herring excepted), and salmon may not be speared anywhere in Washington under WAC 220-310-130, so spearfishing is effectively prohibited.
