How spearfishing is treated at Golden Gardens Park Marine Preserve (Seattle, Washington).

The city-owned tidelands off Golden Gardens Park in Ballard, plus the water column above them down to 4.5 feet below MLLW, defined by WAC 220-302-060. WAC 220-305-080(2)(f) closes the Seattle city park marine preserves to the removal of organisms from the intertidal areas, allowing finfish to be taken only with hook and line gear — a speargun is not hook and line, so spearing a fish here is unlawful. Note the closure reaches only to 4.5 feet below MLLW; deeper water off the park is not covered by this rule.
