How spearfishing is treated at Lookout Shoals Reservoir (North Carolina) — spear guns expressly authorised.
A Catawba River impoundment between Lake Hickory and Lake Norman. It is named twice in 15A NCAC 10C .0407 as a water where spear guns may be used — entry (2) Alexander and entry (46) Iredell — and Catawba County, which holds the rest of the reservoir, authorises spear guns in all its public waters. Season 1 July to 30 June (year-round); a licence conveying inland fishing or special-device privileges is required; only nongame fish may be kept, game fish must be returned unharmed (15A NCAC 10C .0402(d)).
