How spearfishing is treated at Marin Islands State Marine Park (California).
State Marine Park over the waters below the mean high tide line inside the Marin Islands Ecological Reserve - the waters around East and West Marin Island in San Rafael Bay. 14 CCR 632(b)(59)(B) allows only 'the recreational hook and line take of species other than marine aquatic plants from shore only', and 632(b)(59)(C) prohibits boating, swimming, wading and diving anywhere in the park. A spearfisher must be in the water (14 CCR 28.90), so spearfishing here is prohibited outright, and one cannot even reach the islands by boat.
