Overview

How spearfishing is treated at San Diego-Scripps Coastal State Marine Conservation Area (California).

The Scripps / La Jolla Shores stretch fronting Scripps Institution of Oceanography, San Diego County (1.46 sq mi), including the head of Scripps Canyon — heavy recreational dive traffic. The only take permitted is coastal pelagic species other than market squid, by hook and line only. Spearfishing is prohibited.
