Coastal-mountain national park on the Paria Peninsula, Sucre State, bordering the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Paria (incl. Isla de Patos and islets in the Boca del Dragon strait), decreed 12 Dec 1978 (Gaceta Oficial Extraordinaria 2.417, 7 Mar 1979), 37,500 ha. As an INPARQUES national park, extractive fishing including spearfishing is prohibited under Decreto 276 (Reglamento de Administracion y Manejo de Parques Nacionales y Monumentos Naturales), Art. 19.

Apply at an INSOPESCA office with the form from the INSOPESCA website, RIPAC/Registro de Pesca enrollment, ID copy (100% enlarged), FVAS membership card copy (both sides, 100% enlarged), proof of payment of 2 tax units, and invoice or sworn declaration of speargun ownership. Visit the regional sub-office for speargun inspection and document signing, obtain the Porte de Arpon Deportivo from DAEX, then return to the sub-office to collect the definitive permit.
