Community resource-management 'tabu' (no-take) area on the east coast of Malekula Island, Malampa Province, within the Port Stanley mangrove area near Lakatoro/Litzlitz. The chiefs of seven core villages instituted a harvesting ban in 2002, establishing it as a no-take zone over mangroves, fringing reefs and seagrass beds; spearfishing/fishing are prohibited in the tabu zone under customary management recognised by the Fisheries Act.
