How spearfishing is treated at To'atuga (Five Mile Reef) Marine Protected Area (MSP MPA 8).

One of the nine new fully-protected (no-take) MPAs under Samoa's Marine Spatial Plan 2024-2034. Protects To'atuga Reef (Five Mile Reef), an elongated NW-SE ridge reef ~4.4-7 km north of Apia Harbour off the north coast of Upolu (33 km2), reef top at 15-22 m. All recreational fishing and spear-diving tours are prohibited (no-take).
