Fiskardo underwater archaeological site (Kefalonia)

Spearfishing, towed-gear fishing, mechanical shellfish harvesting and sponge fishing are prohibited in the marine area south of Fiskardo bay, north Kefalonia, declared an underwater archaeological site (Law 3028/2002 Art. 15(2); YA YPPO/GDAPK/ARCH/A1/F43/62772/4285/11-11-2003, FEK 1769B/2003). The declaring decision publishes its own WGS 84 coordinate table, drawn on an attached 1:50,000 nautical chart: Α 38°27.385′Ν 020°34.791′Ε, Β 38°27.385′Ν 020°35.552′Ε, Γ 38°27.095′Ν 020°35.693′Ε, Δ 38°27.095′Ν 020°34.997′Ε. The map pin is the area centroid of those four vertices, about 1.1 km south-east of Fiskardo village in the Kefalonia–Ithaca strait (the village itself is outside the declared area). The ban is also listed on the Kefalonia Port Authority’s prohibition register.
