Sea area north of Ormos Giagana (Kefalonia) — underwater archaeological site

Spearfishing is prohibited all year round in the declared archaeological sea area immediately north of Ormos Giagana on the east coast of Kefalonia (Neochori, Eriso, municipality of Sami). Declared by ministerial decision ΥΠΠΟ/ΓΔΑΠΚ/ΑΡΧ/Α1/Φ43/62769/4286 of 11 November 2003 (ΦΕΚ 1769 Β΄/27 Nov 2003) to protect the underwater antiquities found there; the speargun ban follows from art. 15 §2 of Law 3028/2002 read with art. Α§2(δ) of KYA ΥΠΠΟ/ΓΔΑΠΚ/ΑΡΧ/Α1/Φ41/11228/1865 (ΦΕΚ 336 Β΄/2004), and is listed on the Kefalonia Port Authority's current prohibition register. Unlike most Greek underwater-archaeology declarations this one publishes its own WGS 84 coordinate table, so the area is exactly known: a small near-shore box whose landward side is the coastline. The gazette’s own ΠΙΝΑΚΑΣ ΣΥΝΤΕΤΑΓΜΕΝΩΝ reads Α 38°21.140′Ν 020°37.363′Ε · Β 38°21.140′Ν 020°37.624′Ε · Γ 38°20.720′Ν 020°37.624′Ε · Δ 38°20.720′Ν 020°37.439′Ε (about 780 m north-south by 340 m east-west); the map pin is the area centroid of those four published vertices (38.3490, 20.6252), not a gazetteer point, so it should not be "corrected" later.
