  New MPA off the south-western tip of Sardinia near Domus de Maria (Sulcis), established by Ministerial Decree n. 440 of 22 December 2023 and fully operational from November 2024. The MPA covers the sea between Capo Spartivento and Pinus Village, with Zone A (integral reserve, full fishing ban), Zone B (general reserve, residents-only fishing), and Zone C (partial reserve with regulated fishing). Spearfishing is subject to MPA zone restrictions, with Zone A prohibiting all fishing activities.

The AMP was formally established by D.M. 17 maggio 2018 n. 102 (G.U. n. 206 del 5/9/2018), whose art. 5 bans spearfishing throughout the AMP; in zona A the accompanying Regolamento allows only rescue, surveillance, management-body service and authorised scientific research, so no fishing of any kind is permitted.

  No-take core of the Cinque Terre Marine Protected Area off the Punta Mesco headland (between Levanto and Monterosso al Mare). Under the AMP's regolamento di disciplina (D.M. 20 luglio 2011, G.U. n. 267 of 16/11/2011, art. 4 c.2 lett. a) the only activities allowed in zona A are rescue and surveillance, manager's service work, authorised scientific research, contingented bathing without fins/boots/gloves, authorised guided dives and authorised oar/pedal/sail/electric navigation — no fishing of any kind. Spearfishing is in any case banned throughout the whole AMP (decreto istitutivo art. 5 c.1 lett. a; regolamento di esecuzione D.M. 24 febbraio 2015 art. 26 c.1).
