Lancelin Island Lagoon Fish Habitat Protection Area (Western Australia)

The sheltered lagoon on the western side of Lancelin Island, about 125 km north of Perth, set aside by the Lancelin Island Lagoon Fish Habitat Protection Area Order 2001 (s.115 of the Fish Resources Management Act 1994). Regulation 113B(1) of the Fish Resources Management Regulations 1995 states flatly that a person must not fish in the Lancelin Island Lagoon, with no exceptions of any kind, so spearfishing is prohibited. Jet skis and anchoring are also banned. The lagoon is a well-known snorkelling and windsurfing site.
