The stretch of sea around Capo Cimiti is the second zona A (riserva integrale) of the Capo Rizzuto marine protected area under the decree of 19 February 2002. Professional and sport fishing with any gear, spearfishing, anchoring and navigation are all prohibited inside it; only guided snorkelling visits authorised by the managing body are allowed here.
