Zona di Tutela Biologica «Area Miramare» (Golfo di Trieste)

A fisheries biological protection zone in the Gulf of Trieste, created outside the Miramare marine protected area by the decree of 16 March 2004 and re-regulated by the decree of 22 January 2009. In every ZTB all forms of professional, sport and recreational fishing — expressly including spearfishing — are forbidden unless explicitly allowed, and for the Area Miramare the only sport fishing allowed is rod-and-line with a maximum of five hooks per angler, so spearfishing is prohibited.
