Castle Rock Special Closure (California)

Year-round no-entry closure in the waters around Castle Rock, the 14-acre island about half a mile off Crescent City that CDFW describes as a breeding and resting site for migratory seabirds and marine mammals. Under 14 CCR 632(b)(4) the band from the mean high tide line to 300 feet seaward of mean lower low tide is closed to vessels, and subsection (C) forbids any person from entering that band without department permission - a swimming or diving spearfisher is inside the prohibition, so no spearfishing is possible here at any time.
